Chiropractic is the hands-on system of healthcare promoting optimal whole-being wellness, spinal health, and physical fitness. Chiropractic is the art and science of aligning your body for optimal neurological, bio-mechanical, and physiological function.
“We chiropractors work with the subtle substance of the soul. We release the prison-ed impulses, a tiny rivulet of force that emanates from the mind and flows over the nerves to the cells and stirs them to life.” ~ BJ Palmer, Developer of Chiropractic
The Nature of Chiropractic
Nature does not need help; it just needs to be free of interference. Innately, the human body works in dynamic physiological ways to maintain survival, and ultimately desires to be in a state of optimal health. In this century, people live under stressful conditions: long work-days, busy lives, societal burdens, continual exposure to toxins, polluted environmental conditions, as well as all other demands for continued existence. These external stressors, perhaps even combined with poor nutrition and emotional disturbances, disrupt the way the human body is intended to operate. When the body cannot resist stress, over time it becomes plagued with interferences (or subluxations) – a proverbial stick caught in the spokes of life.
A subluxation in the body acts as a road block to a human’s natural methods of communication, blocking messages from one part of the body to another: the nerves to the tissues, cell to cell communication, the central nervous system to the autonomic nervous system, etc. Without this intelligence flowing through the body, there is a compromise in body function and in overall health. A subluxation may be considered a complex of structural or functional or even pathological changes compromising nerve integrity that may influence organ system function, resulting in diminished health.
A chiropractor is specially trained to detect and remove interferences in the body through non-invasive, safe and effective hands-on procedures. Chiropractic works by removing interferences, the body has a restored ability to function properly.
