Life coaching is a concept that has become more widely discussed and popular in recent years, and for good reason! Life is a cycle, and we all go through stages of confusion, feeling stuck, or like we aren’t living up to our potential. Sometimes we know we need a change, but we aren’t sure what the next move is or could be.

What Does a Life Coach Do?

Probably the most common question we hear, “what does a life coach do?”  

Life Coaches help us get organized and remove obstacles so that we can achieve our goals. A life coach is a mentor, and they will help you identify obstacles and create plans to overcome them. 

Your life coach will help you understand your what, why, and how – helping you identify what your end goal is then mapping out how to go from point A to point B. 

While coaching may be therapeutic, life coaches are not therapists and shouldn’t be substituted for one. The main difference between coaching and therapy is that a life coach will look at your present and work with you to identify the future while therapy may examine your past to help you thrive in the present.

While they’re not the same, you don’t necessarily have to choose between them. You can absolutely participate in therapy and life coaching at the same time!

How well and how much effort it takes to do them? We call this process, “reducing the subterranean brain chaos” to make what matters to you happen. 

During your life coaching session, we get out a large pad, pencils, crayons, and markers and ask open-ended questions to facilitate discussion about your life goals and desires. When finished, you’ll have a beautiful piece of art that we can use as the organization life map or building block for your Life Strategic Plan.
