Lauryn Pitts, AGNP-C, MSN is a board certified Adult Gerontological Nurse Practitioner. She began her career in health care as an oncology nurse and has 20 years clinical experience in cancer care and infusion therapy. During the last 5-10 years, Lauryn began to see how the medical environment focuses excessively on disease and symptom treatment and not enough on prevention, wellness and optimal body function.
She continued her education and received a Master of Science in Nursing from the University of Alabama at Birmingham with a primary care focus. She has mid-level experience providing medical care for autoimmune and rheumatological conditions as well as musculoskeletal and joint disease and injuries such as osteoarthritis, osteoporosis, and connective tissue injuries.
Her current passion is to bridge the gap between conventional and functional medical worlds, blending both evidence-based traditional and natural therapies.  She loves helping patients become engaged in achieving their best well-being.
Her areas of interest and knowledge include disease prevention, screening, and education; management of inflammatory conditions such as diabetes, metabolic syndrome, and hyperlipidemia, as well as auto immune conditions. She has training in bio identical hormone therapy replacement and management. Lauryn relocated to Texas where her extended family resides 2 years ago.
She has 3 active teenagers at home. She loves gardening, enjoying the sun and warm weather, exercise, yoga and any opportunity to watch soccer and gymnastics especially if its her own kids on the field and gym.
